CCP Middle School Team Finishes Season Strong

We played an experienced Daisy team for our last game of the season. Even thought we lost 6-3, I feel this was our most complete game to date. Offensively we managed to get the ball down the pool and take some great shots. Defensively, however, the team really shined. The defense played much better than last week. I saw teammates communicating with each other and helping each other out. Several times a Daisy player lost the ball to a swarm of Chaminade players. Player of the game honors goes to Mark Corwin. Mark played goalie for almost the entire game. His saves kept the game close. What stood out the most in this game was how much we have improved this year. I'm sure the parents that have come to the games have noticed just how far the team has come. Compared to our first game we are a totally different team. Not only have individual skills improved, but so has the teamwork. It makes me wish the MS season lasted a few more weeks.

I hope that everyone on the team stays involved with water polo. If everyone returns for next year I can see the team winning quite a few games. I encourage all of the players to join a club team for the spring. I'll try to have some sign up sheets at school next week. For the 8th graders planning to play for Chaminade HS next year, playing on a club team will be invaluable. If anyone has any questions on the club teams ask me or any of the other coaches. I have really enjoyed coaching the team this year and hope everyone has had fun playing water polo for the first time.
