The Chaminade Middle School team notches first win in club history!

The Chaminade MS water polo club captured their first victory of the season and also the first victory ever for the program. Chaminade defeated Storm 12-4 for the win. This game was easily the best to date. On defense the players helped each other out, stealing passes and shutting down Storm. Storm never seemed to feel comfortable against our defense and often ran the clock out.

Offensively, the team countered hard and scored quite a few breakaway goals. Perhaps more impressively, the half court offense began to fall into place. The team worked the ball into Garret for several shots from 2-meter. Perimeter passing improved from the last game. This time around, I saw a lot less turnovers from bad passes. Perhaps the only blemish offensively was missing our 6-5 opportunity. As usual, Joe Tillman and Mark Corwin continued their solid goalie performances. While some of the saves were impressive, the passing was much improved.

Player of the game honors went to Dan. He set the tone for the game, scoring the first two goals for Chaminade. He was moving all of the pool making plays. Practice this week will be at the regular times. This weekend, Chaminade will face a tough Daisy team. Hopefully our recent success caries over to the next game.
